Alexander Chee in conversation with Senthuran Varatharajah
We are very proud to present Alexander Chee, author, political activist in the gay movement and former Picador Guest Professor. In his autobiographically influenced debut novel "Edinburgh" Alexander Chee tells of sexual assaults in a boys' choir; for this book he was awarded several prizes. And in "How to Write an Autobiographical Novel", a collection of essays, he looks back on different stages of his life. It was rated one of the 'Best Books of the Year' by New York Magazine, Washington Post, Publishers Weekly and Time Magazine.
Albino Verlag has now published both books for the first time in German (translated by Nicola Heine and Timm Stafe). On May 21, Alexander Chee read from both books and talked with Senthuran Varatharajah. The conversation between the two can be found here on YouTube and further information on the guest professorship can be found at www.picadorprof.de.
