The Veranstaltungsforum of the Publishing Group of Holtzbrinck and the Museum for Communication took up the topic of the museum's exhibition "@bsolut digital!? From diary to webblog" and initiated a debate on the new privateness in the age of digital media.

Forms of Modernity - Views of Modernity: The President of the Federal Republic of Germany has initiated in co-operation with the Veranstaltungsforum of the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group and the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt a three part series of discussions. Alongside the Federal President, 12 outstanding international figures discussed the different forms of development caused by the worldwide globalization and expanded the look beyond the "western world".

Energy Security and International Relations: The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Veranstaltungsforum of the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group had started a series of events due to the German Presidency of the European Union 2007. The 3-part programme series addresses questions concerning Energy Security and International Relations. The first event "International Energy Politics - global Thinking and responsible Design" was opened by Federal Foreign Minister Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier on 16 February 2007.

Gender in Research - Innovation through Equality of Opportunity: The conference is a collaboration of the Federal Ministry for Education and Research and the Center of Excellence Women and Science. It broaches the potential of gender as an issue for a future-orientated science and innovation policy and aims to ensure the competitiveness of the European knowledge society.

Religion and Faith in the 21 Century: was a five-part series of events jointly initiated by the Veranstaltungsforum of the Publishing Group Georg von Holtzbrinck and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Science. The series centers on questions about the search for identity and orientation in modern society.

War and Violence in the 21st Century: New threat scenarios and new strategies for warfare in the global society of the 21st century have projected the debate on the future significance of war and violence and their repercussions for states and societies into the spotlight of public interest. The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Science held this series of events between 2003 and 2004 in cooperation with the Veranstaltungsforum of the Publishing Group Georg von Holtzbrinck with a view to contributing cross-disciplinary and practical input to this debate.
