Samuel Fischer Guest Professorship for Literature: This guest professorship was established in 1998 by the S. Fischer publishing house, the Freie Universität Berlin, the German Academic Exchange Service and the Veranstaltungsforum of The Publishing Group Georg von Holtzbrinck. Each semester a well-known author is awarded a guest professorship at the Freie Universität Berlin entailing regular lectures and contributions to various other events.

Picador-Guest Professorship for Literature: In 2007 the University of Leipzig in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service and the Veranstaltungsforum of the Publishing Group Georg von Holtzbrinck initiated the Picador-Guest Professorship for Literature at the University of Leipzig aiming at conveying and critically reflecting on Anglo-American Literature.

Face Time: a series of events in association with embassies and cultural institutions, which brings together international artists of different fields.

Die geschenkte Stunde (The hour given by daylight saving): A total of 7,000 visitors came to experience literature and live acts in Berlin, Cottbus and Hamburg on 27 October 2001 at Die geschenkte Stunde, an unusual type of literary event staged by DIE ZEIT, Der Tagesspiegel and the Lausitzer Rundschau in association with publishing houses Rowohlt, Droemer Weltbild, S. Fischer, and Kiepenheuer & Witsch.

Wahlheimat Berlin: is a series of literature events, initiated by the culture programme of the German Academic Exchange Service and the Veranstalungsforum at the German Historical Museum. The readings constitutes a platform for urban issues and experiences: foreignness, loss of identity, departures and journeys, relationships and unrelatedness.
