AmCham Transatlantic Partnership Award

The AmCham Transatlantic Partnership Award is an annual award of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany e.V. to recognize outstanding accomplishments towards German-American relations in the areas of business, politics, sciences, arts, or culture.
This award has been conferred since 1987 to outstanding persons and institutions from Germany and the USA. Since 2002, the awards have been conferred at a seperate festive event in Berlin.

The Melinda & Bill Gates Foundation, represented by co-chair Bill Gates, has been honored with the AmCham Transatlantic Partnership Award 2011 for the engagement in various initiatives in the fields of education, funding of innovative ideas and for the numerous of cooperative projects with American and German businesses and organizations in this context.
