The prize is awarded by the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany. The jury is composed of eminent persons from America and Germany who are known for their contributions to transatlantic relations. The award-winners are persons from the fields of business, politics, science and culture in America and Germany who have made an outstanding contribution to transatlantic relations. The annual award ceremony is held at the Museum of Communication in Berlin in December.
